MCP server

One MCP server for your whole business

Mojobase runs one MCP server for your whole business. Add one address to ChatGPT, Claude or your own agent and it reaches your email, calendar, documents, tasks, customers, numbers and Handbook, with one search across all of them. It acts as the person who connected it, under the same rules as their screens, and every call shows in Activity.

What is an MCP server?

An MCP server is a program that gives AI assistants a set of tools for an app, using the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that ChatGPT, Claude and most AI clients support. Connect a Gmail MCP server to Claude and Claude can search your mail; connect a task app’s server and it can add tasks. A longer, neutral explanation is on what is an MCP server.

Mojobase’s MCP server is one server for every part of a small business. It starts each Mojobase app’s own tools and passes them through unchanged, so your agent gets the same tools the apps use, under the same rules, from one address.

What does Mojobase’s MCP server reach?

Every Mojobase app the person who connected it may open, plus one search across all of them. What each app lets an agent do is that app’s own rule, not a setting of the server.

AppWhat an agent can doWhat it can’t do
EmailSearch and read every mailbox you can see, read attachments, write and schedule draftsDelete, move or mark mail
CalendarList events, find free times, create and change your own events, hold times, read notesSend an invite or change a meeting with guests without your Approve
DocumentsSearch inside files, read them, create documents, suggest edits, moves and renamesDelete forever or share outside the company
TasksList, add, update and complete tasks, read suggestionsAssign or change a teammate’s task without a person’s OK
CustomersFind, add and update people and companiesDelete a person or company
NumbersRead sales, ad spend, campaigns and Stripe invoices, including amounts owed and existing payment linksCreate or send invoices, move money, or change a store or ad account
HandbookSearch, read, write and move pages, read the business profilePublish, change settings or delete for good
All of themmojobase_search: one query across mail, events, files, documents, tasks and Handbook pages, ranked togetherSee anything with AI switched off

Team chat’s tools let an agent list, read, post, reply, react and search in the conversations its person is in. An app that’s missing or not working is left out and named, rather than failing the whole connection.

Why one MCP server instead of one per app?

Because the useful questions cross apps. “Prepare me for Thursday’s call with Northside” needs the emails, the meeting, the open tasks and what they’ve paid. With a server per app, the assistant juggles four connections, four sign-ins and four sets of rules, and none of them knows the others exist.

Most tools publish a server of their own. Google’s Gmail MCP server covers Gmail only, and Google publishes separate servers for its other products, according to Google’s developer reference. Slack’s MCP server searches messages, files and users and sends messages, under admin approval, according to Slack’s developer docs. Those are the right choice for the apps Mojobase doesn’t connect. For the parts of the business that live in Mojobase, one server gives an assistant all of them:

  • One search: mojobase_search asks every app at once and ranks the results together.
  • One set of rules: each app’s own, the same as on its screens.
  • One log: every call in Activity, by person and by agent, with Undo where the app has it.
  • One switch: turn a key off and the agent loses every app at once.

How do you connect to Mojobase’s MCP server?

With one address and a sign-in or a key, from Settings → Connect an agent. Keys work in every client that takes one; claude.ai and ChatGPT sign in with OAuth at your company’s own address once it’s switched on for your company.

  • Address for keys: https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp
  • Address for claude.ai and ChatGPT: https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp/<your company>, shown in Settings
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http --scope user mojobase https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
  • Codex: codex mcp add mojobase --url https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp --bearer-token-env-var MOJOBASE_KEY

The server speaks MCP’s Streamable HTTP transport and answers each request as JSON. Step-by-step guides for each assistant are listed below.

How does it keep your business safe?

By giving an agent exactly one person’s access and recording everything it does.

  • It acts as a person: the role and apps of whoever connected it, checked on every request.
  • Keys are shown once: only a fingerprint is stored, each person has at most ten, and any of them can be switched off at once.
  • A key opens the MCP server and nothing else, and a browser’s sign-in doesn’t open the MCP server.
  • Requests from a web page on another site are refused, as the MCP standard asks.
  • AI-off stays off: a mailbox, calendar, channel or folder with AI switched off never reaches an agent.
  • Scheduled runs get less: Mojobase’s own runs reach the server with reading tools and the tools that make drafts, suggestions and approval requests, and nothing else.

Where the data itself lives is on security.

Questions people ask

What is an MCP server?

An MCP server gives AI assistants tools for an app, using the Model Context Protocol, an open standard. Connect one to ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client and the assistant can search, read and act in that app. Most apps publish one server each; Mojobase publishes one for the whole business.

Is Mojobase’s MCP server free?

It’s included in every Mojobase plan, and agents never take a seat. What an agent’s work costs shows up as AI use: on your own ChatGPT or Claude subscription when it’s your assistant doing the thinking.

Which AI assistants can use it?

Any MCP client: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Hermes or your own setup. claude.ai and ChatGPT add your company’s address as a connector and sign in; Claude Code, Codex and other clients use a key from Settings → Connect an agent.

Do I still need the Gmail or Google Calendar MCP server?

Not for Mojobase’s parts of your business. Mojobase’s server already reaches the Gmail and Outlook mailboxes and the Google and Outlook calendars you’ve connected, alongside everything else. A tool’s own server is still the way in for apps Mojobase doesn’t connect.

Can an agent on the MCP server do more than I can?

No. It runs as you, with your role and only the apps you may open, checked again on every request. If your role changes, its tools change with it; if you leave the company, its key stops working.

How do I switch an agent off?

In Settings → Connect an agent, switch off its key, or remove the connector in ChatGPT or Claude. It stops at once. Each person can have up to ten keys, so one per assistant is easy to manage.
