Gemini and Mojobase

Use Gemini with your whole business

Gemini connects to Mojobase over MCP in two ways. In the Gemini app, add your company's Mojobase address as a custom app and sign in; this needs a personal Google Account in the US. In Gemini CLI, add it with one command and a key. Gemini then reads and drafts across your email, calendar, documents, tasks and customers.

How do you connect Gemini to Mojobase?

The Gemini app (custom apps)

For personal Google Accounts, 18 or over and in the US, with Keep Activity on. Custom apps are in English only and aren't available on work or school accounts yet. You add it on the web, and it then works in the Gemini mobile app too.

  1. In Mojobase, open Settings → Connect an agent and copy your company's address. It starts with https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp/.
  2. Go to gemini.google.com on your computer, click Settings, then Connected Apps. If you don't see it, click Personal Intelligence first.
  3. Under Custom apps, click Add a custom app, paste the address and click Next. Mojobase registers Gemini by itself, so leave Advanced features as they are.
  4. Sign in with your Mojobase account and follow the steps on screen.
  5. In a prompt, type @ and pick Mojobase.

Gemini CLI

For developers, for work accounts, and for anything you want to run from a terminal or a script. It uses a key you make in Mojobase.

  1. In Mojobase, open Settings → Connect an agent and make a key. It's shown once, so copy it.
  2. Run gemini mcp add -s user --transport http --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" mojobase https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp.
  3. Restart Gemini CLI and type /mcp to see Mojobase and its tools.
  • Custom apps in the Gemini app: Need a personal Google Account, age 18 or over in the US, and Keep Activity on; not yet available on work or school accounts1
  • Where you add them: On gemini.google.com under Settings → Connected Apps → Custom apps; English only; once added, they work in the mobile app too2
  • Write actions: Gemini requires manual confirmation for any write action by a custom app3
  • Gemini CLI: gemini mcp add --transport http adds a remote server, with --header for a token; -s user saves it for every project4
  • Confirmations in Gemini CLI: trust: true skips every tool confirmation for a server; the default is false5
  • Gemini Enterprise: Admins add a custom MCP server as a data store, over Streamable HTTP only, with every action off until they turn it on6

Which Gemini should a small business connect to Mojobase?

Use the Gemini app if you're the owner and you use a personal Google Account in the US; it's the quickest, and it follows you to your phone. Use Gemini CLI on a work account, or if you want Gemini working from scripts and a terminal. If your company already pays for Gemini Enterprise, your admin can add MCP servers there for everyone, and turns on each action one by one.

Why connect Gemini to Mojobase if your mail is already in Google?

Because the business is wider than one Google account. If everything you do lives in Google Workspace, Google's own Gemini features may be enough. Most small businesses also have an Outlook mailbox, a task list, customer records, store sales and a Handbook of how things are done, and Mojobase holds all of them, with one search across every app. Gemini reads the Handbook's business profile first, so its drafts know your prices and your tone.

What happens when Gemini wants to change something in Mojobase?

Two checks apply. Gemini asks you to confirm before a custom app writes anything, and Mojobase applies its own rules on top: mail stays a draft until it's sent, calendar changes that reach other people wait for your approval, and Handbook pages the AI writes wait as drafts. Each change shows in Activity under Gemini's name and model, with Undo where the app has it.

What can't Gemini do through Mojobase?

It can't do more than you can. The connection acts as the person who signed in, with their role and only the apps they may open, so it never sees a teammate's private mailbox or calendar details. It also can't delete mail, move it or mark it read; no agent can, in any Mojobase app.

Questions people ask

Does Gemini support MCP servers?

Yes, in three places: custom apps in the Gemini app, Gemini CLI, and Gemini Enterprise, where an admin adds the server. The Gemini app and Gemini CLI are the two that connect to Mojobase in a few minutes without an admin.

Why can't I see Custom apps in the Gemini app?

Custom apps are only offered on personal Google Accounts, to people 18 or over in the US, with Keep Activity switched on, and in English. On a work or school account, use Gemini CLI with a Mojobase key instead.

Can Gemini read my Gmail through Mojobase?

Yes. Gemini reaches every mailbox you can see in Mojobase Email, whether it's Gmail, Outlook or business email Mojobase hosts on your domain, together with the calendar, tasks and customer records around each message.

Does using Gemini with Mojobase cost extra?

No. Gemini runs on your own Google plan, and connecting it to Mojobase is free, since agents are never counted as seats. Mojobase's own background work uses the AI included in your Mojobase plan.
