MCP server

Google Ads MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents

Google publishes an open-source, read-only Google Ads MCP server in Python, run locally or on Cloud Run with your own API access. Mojobase's MCP server reads Google spend, campaigns and reported conversion value beside Meta, Amazon Ads and real store sales. An owner connects Google Ads once in Settings → Connections, with no Cloud project for you to run.

Which tools does your agent get for Google Ads through Mojobase?

ToolWhat it does
numbers_campaignsGoogle campaigns by spend for a period (platform google), with the conversion value Google claims
numbers_summarySpend on every platform against total sales for a period, with return on ad spend and the change
numbers_dailyDay-by-day spend and sales between two dates, up to 92 days
mail_searchEmails from your agency or Google about the account, across every mailbox you can see
task_addA task to look at a campaign, with the numbers that prompted it
mojobase_searchOne search across mail, events, files, tasks and Handbook pages

What can you ask your agent once it's connected?

  • “Which Google campaigns cost more this month than last, and did sales rise with them?”
  • “What share of our ad spend went to Google last quarter?”
  • “Google says search returned 5x. What's our real return on ad spend?”
  • “Make a task to review any campaign whose spend jumped by half this week.”

Which should you use: Google's Google Ads MCP server or Mojobase's?

Use Google's if you or your agency want an agent to dig into one Google Ads account: it queries the account in Google Ads Query Language, segment by segment, and Google adds skills to help it write valid queries. Use Mojobase's if the question is whether the spend is paying off across the business: it sets Google beside Meta and Amazon Ads and against sales in Shopify and Amazon, with no Cloud project to run.

How does an owner connect Google Ads for an agent?

Open Settings → Connections → Connect a source, choose Google Ads and sign in with a Google account that can see the ad account. Grant read-only access and choose the account; Mojobase handles the API connection without a Cloud project or developer credentials from you. Your agent uses the same Numbers tools for Google, Meta and Amazon Ads, and sees only the data you can see. Campaign changes stay with the person or agency managing Google Ads.

How should an agent use Google Ads figures?

As one platform's view, checked against the business. Google's conversion value is Google's claim; real sales come from your store. A good agent question is "spend rose 30% this week; did orders?", answered from numbers_summary, then "which campaigns?", answered from numbers_campaigns, before anyone touches a bid in Google Ads.

Questions people ask

Is there an official Google Ads MCP server?

Yes. Google publishes the Google Ads MCP server as open source in its googleads GitHub organization, with a developer guide on Google's site. It's read-only in its current release and needs a Google Cloud project with Google Ads API access.

Can an AI agent change my Google Ads campaigns over MCP?

Not through either of these. Google's server is read-only in its current release, and Mojobase's connection only reads, so bids, budgets and ads stay in Google Ads.

Do I need a Google Cloud project to use Mojobase's server?

No. Mojobase reads Google Ads under its own approved API access, and an owner connects your account with a Google sign-in. Google's own server needs your own Cloud project, access level and credentials.

Why does Mojobase show a lower return than Google Ads?

Google counts the conversions it credits to its own ads, as Meta and Amazon do, often for the same sale. Mojobase divides real sales by all ad spend, so the figure belongs to the business, not to one platform.
