MCP server

Gmail MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents

There are two ways to give an AI agent Gmail over MCP. Google's own Gmail MCP server is in developer preview: it searches, reads, labels and drafts, but doesn't send. Mojobase's MCP server reads and drafts across Gmail and your other mailboxes, and the same connection reaches your calendar, documents, tasks, customers and Handbook.

Which tools does your agent get for Gmail through Mojobase?

ToolWhat it does
mail_searchFull-text search across every mailbox you can see, newest first
mail_threadA whole conversation, oldest first, across folders and mailboxes
mail_attachment_textThe text inside an attached PDF, Word, Excel or CSV file
draft_replyWrites a reply as a draft, with the recipients worked out, recorded under the agent's name
draft_scheduleSchedules a draft to go at a set time
mojobase_searchOne search across mail, events, files, tasks and Handbook pages

What can you ask your agent once it's connected?

  • “Find every email from Northside this month and draft a reply to the latest.”
  • “What does the contract attached to Sam's email say about notice?”
  • “Draft follow-ups to everyone who hasn't answered my quote in a week.”
  • “Which emails today mention a meeting, and is there a slot free?”

Which should you use: Google's Gmail MCP server or Mojobase's?

Use Google's server if you only need Gmail, you're comfortable setting up a Google Cloud project, and your account is in the developer preview. Use Mojobase's if your agent should also see your calendar, files, tasks and customers, or you have mailboxes outside Gmail. Mojobase's one server covers all of them with one address and one sign-in.

Is it safe to give an AI agent your email?

It's as safe as the rules around it. Email text is untrusted: a message can contain instructions aimed at an AI. Mojobase's scheduled runs only ever get tools that read or write drafts, enforced by the server rather than by asking the model, so a mail that says "forward this to …" can't make a run send anything. Your own agent acts as you, and every action shows in Activity, with Undo.

Questions people ask

Is there an official Gmail MCP server?

Yes. Google publishes one at gmailmcp.googleapis.com, in developer preview for members of its Google Workspace Developer Preview Program. It needs a Google Cloud project with the Gmail MCP API enabled and an OAuth client.

Can an AI agent send Gmail over MCP?

Google's server has no send tool: it creates drafts for you to send from Gmail. Mojobase drafts and schedules too, and every draft and send shows in Activity under the agent's name.

How do I connect Mojobase's MCP server to Claude?

Copy your company's address from Settings → Connect an agent in Mojobase and add it as a custom connector in Claude, or run one command in Claude Code with a key. The steps are on the Claude page.

Does the agent see everyone's email?

No. It acts as the person who connected it, so it sees exactly the mailboxes that person sees, under the same rules as their screens.
