MCP server
Google Calendar MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents
There are two ways to give an AI agent Google Calendar over MCP. Google's own Calendar MCP server is in developer preview: it lists, creates, changes and deletes events, suggests times and answers invitations. Mojobase's MCP server works on your synced Google calendars, adds holds and teammates' availability, asks before changing meetings with guests, and reaches your email and tasks.

How does Google Calendar's own MCP server compare with Mojobase's?
| What matters | Mojobase MCP | Google Calendar's own |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Available to every Mojobase company | Developer Preview, for members of the Google Workspace Developer Preview Program1 |
| What it can do with events | List, read, find free times across you and teammates, create, change and delete, hold offered slots, read bookings and meeting notes | list_events, get_event, list_calendars, search_events, suggest_time, create_event, update_event and delete_event2 |
| Answering invitations | Not from Mojobase: reply in Google Calendar, and the answer syncs in | respond_to_event responds to an event on a calendar3 |
| Changes that reach guests | Wait for your approval as a proposal; events with no guests change at once, with Undo | Clients can read, modify and delete data in your Google Account; Google asks you to review every action they take on your behalf4 |
| Setup | Connect Google Calendar in Mojobase, then add one address to your agent | A Google Cloud project with the Calendar API and Calendar MCP API enabled, an OAuth consent screen, and an OAuth client marked for an AI-powered agent5 |
| Beyond Google Calendar | The same connection reaches Outlook and iCloud calendars, mail, tasks, documents, customers and the Handbook | Google Calendar only; each Google Workspace product has its own MCP server6 |
Which tools does your agent get for Google Calendar through Mojobase?
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
calendar_list | Every event between two dates, across the calendars you can see |
calendar_find_times | Good free times to offer, inside working hours, optionally clear of named teammates' busy times |
calendar_team_busy | A teammate's busy times, with no titles or details |
calendar_create | Adds an event: at once if it has no guests, otherwise as a proposal you approve |
calendar_change | Moves or edits an event, or one occurrence of a repeating one, under the same rule |
calendar_hold | Private holds on the times you offered someone, released when they pick one |
calendar_bookings | Upcoming bookings made through your booking links, with the answers people gave |
calendar_notes | Your latest meeting notes, with summaries and follow-ups, for preparing the next meeting |
What can you ask your agent once it's connected?
- “Find 45 minutes with Ana and Sam next week and offer Dana three of them.”
- “What's on Thursday, and what did we discuss last time with each person?”
- “Move my dentist appointment to Friday at 9.”
- “Which bookings came in through my booking link this week?”
Which should you use: Google's Calendar MCP server or Mojobase's?
Use Google's server if you only need Google Calendar, you want your agent to accept and decline invitations, and you're comfortable setting up a Google Cloud project in a developer preview. Use Mojobase's if scheduling depends on more than your own calendar: teammates' busy times, holds on times you've offered, booking links, or the email thread the meeting came from. One address covers all of it.
Why does an agent need more than your calendar to schedule well?
Because the hard part of scheduling is everything around the slot. "Find a time with Dana" means knowing Dana is in another time zone, that Sam needs to be there, that you offered her Thursday in an email yesterday, and that the slots you offered shouldn't be booked by anything else in the meantime. Mojobase's tools answer each of those: calendar_find_times with teammates and the guest's zone, mail_search for the thread, and calendar_hold to keep the offer open.
What can an agent safely change on your calendar?
Your own time, freely; other people's, only with you. Calendar text is untrusted, since an invitation can carry instructions aimed at an AI, so Mojobase lets an agent add, move and delete events that involve only you, recorded in Activity with Undo. Anything that would reach a guest becomes a proposal you approve, with the reason and the source the agent gave. Mojobase's own scheduled runs can only propose.
Questions people ask
Is there an official Google Calendar MCP server?
Yes. Google publishes one at calendarmcp.googleapis.com, in developer preview for members of the Google Workspace Developer Preview Program. It needs a Google Cloud project with the Calendar MCP API enabled and your own OAuth client.
Can an AI agent change my Google Calendar without asking?
Through Google's server, it can create, update and delete events, and Google advises reviewing every action. Through Mojobase, events with no guests change at once with Undo, and anything that reaches other people waits for your approval.
Does Mojobase's calendar MCP work with Outlook calendars too?
Yes. The same tools work on every calendar you've connected to Mojobase Calendar, whether it's synced from Google, Outlook or iCloud, or is Mojobase's own, so one agent can find time across all of them.
How do I connect Mojobase's MCP server to Claude or ChatGPT?
Copy your company's address from Settings → Connect an agent in Mojobase, and add it as a custom connector in Claude or a custom MCP server in ChatGPT's plugins, then sign in. The agent pages have the exact steps.
