MCP server
Meta Ads MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents
Meta hosts its own ads MCP server in open beta: an agent can report on performance and create and edit campaigns under rules you set. Mojobase's MCP server reads Meta spend, campaigns and reported purchase value beside real Shopify and Amazon sales and other ad platforms. An owner connects Meta Ads once in Settings → Connections; Mojobase never edits ads.

How does Meta Ads's own MCP server compare with Mojobase's?
| What matters | Mojobase MCP | Meta Ads's own |
|---|---|---|
| What an agent can do | Read spend and campaigns by day, and Meta's claimed sales beside your real ones | Reporting, ad creation and management, catalogs, signals and datasets, help and troubleshooting, A/B tests and lift studies, and activity logs1 |
| Changing campaigns | Never: the connection is read-only, so budgets and ads stay as they are | Its tools create and edit ads, ad sets and campaigns2 |
| Limits on agents | Nothing to limit: an agent here can't change anything in Meta | Since 16 July 2026, people with full control of a business portfolio can limit what AI agents may do on an ad account, including budget changes and catalog updates3 |
| Setup | An owner connects Meta Ads once in Settings → Connections; you add one address to your agent | Hosted by Meta at https://mcp.facebook.com/ads; no developer credentials, API setup or coding required4 |
| Status | Connected in Settings → Connections; reads spend, campaigns and Meta's reported purchase value | Open beta since 29 April 2026, for businesses of all sizes across regions5 |
Which tools does your agent get for Meta Ads through Mojobase?
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
numbers_campaigns | Meta campaigns by spend for a period, each with the purchase value Meta claims and that claim divided by spend |
numbers_summary | Total spend across Meta, Google and Amazon Ads against total sales, with return on ad spend and the change from last period |
numbers_daily | Spend per ad platform and sales per channel for each day between two dates |
draft_new | An email to your agency or freelancer, written as a draft for you to send |
task_add | A task to review a campaign, linked to the figure that prompted it |
mojobase_search | One search across mail, events, files, tasks and Handbook pages |
What can you ask your agent once it's connected?
- “Which Meta campaigns took most of this week's budget, and did sales follow?”
- “Meta claims a 4x return this month. What does our own return on ad spend say?”
- “Draft a note to our agency about the two campaigns whose spend doubled.”
- “Show Meta, Google and Amazon Ads spend for October side by side.”
Which should you use: Meta's ads MCP server or Mojobase's?
Use Meta's to let an agent run campaigns: it's built by Meta for that, covers creation, catalogs and tests, and lets you cap what agents may change. Use Mojobase's to let an agent judge them: it sees Meta's spend beside Google and Amazon Ads and against what you actually sold in Shopify and Amazon, and it can't move a budget. One acts, the other checks; they're safer together than either alone.
Why does Meta's sales figure differ from Mojobase's?
Because Meta reports the purchases it attributes to its own ads, and so do Google and Amazon, often for the same order. Add their claims together and a store can appear to have sold more than it did. Mojobase keeps each platform's claim on that platform's line, and works out the business's return on ad spend from real sales divided by all spend, so the agent argues from one honest number.
What does an agent need to know before acting on Meta advice?
That reading is cheap and spending isn't. An agent on Mojobase's server can say "these two campaigns took 60% of the budget while sales were flat" and draft the note to your agency, but the decision and the change happen in Ads Manager or through Meta's own server, by someone you trust with the budget. Every question it asked shows in Mojobase's Activity under its name.
Questions people ask
Is there an official Meta Ads MCP server?
Yes. Meta hosts one at mcp.facebook.com/ads as part of its Meta Ads AI connectors, in open beta since April 2026. It works with any MCP-compatible agent and needs no developer credentials.
Can an AI agent change my Meta campaigns?
Through Meta's server, yes: it can create and edit ads, ad sets and campaigns, within the rules your business portfolio sets. Through Mojobase, no: the connection only reads, so an agent can report and recommend but never spend.
How do I connect Meta Ads for my agent?
An owner opens Settings → Connections → Connect a source, chooses Meta Ads and signs in with Facebook to connect the ad account with read-only access. Your agent then reads spend, campaigns and Meta's reported purchase value through Mojobase's MCP server, within your Numbers permissions.
Can I use Meta's server and Mojobase's together?
Yes, and many owners should: Meta's to act on campaigns, Mojobase's to check them against real sales. Set rules in your business portfolio for what the acting agent may change.
