MCP server

Shopify MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents

Shopify's own MCP servers serve developers and shopping agents: Dev MCP searches its docs and API schemas, and each store's UCP endpoint lets a buyer's agent search the catalog and check out. Mojobase's MCP server answers the owner's question instead: how sales, orders and ad spend are doing, read-only, next to the email and tasks. It never changes the store.

Which tools does your agent get for Shopify through Mojobase?

What can you ask your agent once it's connected?

  • “How did the Shopify store do yesterday against last Tuesday?”
  • “Is this week's extra Meta spend showing up in Shopify sales?”
  • “Which customers emailed about late deliveries this week? Draft the replies.”
  • “Put Shopify and Amazon sales for October in one table.”

Which should you use: Shopify's MCP servers or Mojobase's?

Use Shopify's if you're building on Shopify: Dev MCP and the AI Toolkit help a coding agent write and check apps, themes and queries, and the UCP servers let shopping agents buy from your store. Use Mojobase's if you run the store and want an agent that knows how it's doing. Most owners need both kinds, and they don't overlap: one changes or sells, the other reads and reports.

What does an agent see of your store through Mojobase?

The daily figures Numbers reads from Shopify's sales report. Sales means gross sales: product price times quantity, before tax, shipping, discounts and returns, with discounts and returns shown underneath, plus orders and the average order. Days run in your store's time zone, and the last 7 days are read again on every sync, because recent days are revised. Owners see them first; the connection reads daily totals, not customer records, and never edits the store.

Why read Shopify numbers next to email and ads?

Because the answer to "why are sales down?" is rarely in the sales report. It's in the ad account that changed its spend, the supplier email about a late delivery, or the customer complaints that started on Tuesday. An agent on Mojobase's server sees all three alongside the numbers, so it can say which one moved, and draft the email or make the task that deals with it.

Questions people ask

Is there an official Shopify MCP server?

Shopify publishes several: Dev MCP for developers building on Shopify, UCP servers on every store for agents that shop on a buyer's behalf, and Customer Accounts MCP. They're built for building on Shopify and for selling to shoppers' agents, not for reading your own sales.

Can my agent change products or prices through Mojobase?

No. Mojobase's Shopify connection only reads sales reports, so no agent can edit products, prices, orders or customers through it. For supported store-management tasks, Shopify's own AI Toolkit works through Shopify CLI.

Who can see Shopify numbers through Mojobase's MCP server?

Owners, to start with, and anyone an owner lets into Numbers. An agent acts as the person who connected it, so a teammate's agent without access to Numbers gets no sales figures at all.

Does the same connection cover Amazon and ad platforms?

Yes. The same tools return Amazon sales and Meta, Google and Amazon Ads spend, measured the same way as Shopify's, so an agent can answer whether last week's ads paid off across both channels.
