Block time for your tasks on the calendar

In Mojobase, tasks with a date sit beside your events, and dragging one onto a time blocks it. Ask “find time this week for the supplier quotes” and the AI suggests where your tasks fit around meetings, places private time blocks with Undo, and warns when a day is overloaded. Free time is worked out by the calendar, never guessed.

How does Mojobase block time for your tasks, step by step?

  1. Tasks with dates appear on the calendar

Dated tasks from Mojobase Tasks show beside the day's events in Calendar, so you see the work and the meetings in one place.

  2. Drag a task onto a time

Drag a task into the week and it becomes a time block for that task. Move or resize it like any event.

  3. Or ask the AI to find the time

Say “block two hours tomorrow for the supplier quotes task” and the block appears in a free slot. Free times come from your calendar and working hours, never the model's guess.

  4. Plan the whole week

Ask where this week's tasks fit and the AI suggests a block for each, around your meetings and buffers, and warns about any day with more work than hours.

  5. Plan my day

In Tasks, Plan my day suggests a short focus list for today with one line of reason each, and moves for the rest, which you accept or change.

  6. Private, with Undo

Blocks are private to you, so the AI places them on its own and every one can be undone. Anything that would reach other people, like moving a meeting with guests, waits for your approval.

What do you say to start it?

  • “Block two hours tomorrow for the supplier quotes task.”
  • “Find time this week for everything due by Friday.”
  • “What do I actually need to do today?”
  • “I'm off Friday. Move what I can.”
  • “Is Thursday overloaded? Suggest what to move.”

What does a time-blocked week look like?

Meetings first, then the work placed in the gaps that are actually free. Here's what the AI suggests for a Monday with a busy calendar and five tasks due by Friday:

Day Meetings Blocks the AI suggests
Monday 10:00 team call, 14:00 client review 11:00–12:30 supplier quotes; 15:30–16:30 reply backlog
Tuesday None after 11:00 11:30–14:00 website copy draft
Wednesday Four meetings No block: the day is full, so it says so and moves nothing
Thursday 9:00 interview 10:00–11:30 month-end checklist
Friday Off Nothing; your working hours say you're out

Why time block at all?

Because a to-do list says what, and only a calendar says when. A task with a due date but no time competes with every meeting someone else books, and the meeting usually wins. Blocking the time makes the work as real as the meeting, and makes it obvious, before Wednesday morning, that Wednesday can't hold everything you planned for it.

Why does the AI need both the calendar and the tasks?

Because neither tells the whole story alone. The calendar knows when you're free; Tasks knows what's due, what's urgent and what's waiting on someone else. Mojobase's AI reads both, along with your working hours, buffers and minimum notice, so it can leave out a task that's waiting on a customer's reply, and it tells you when the work due this week simply doesn't fit.

Questions people ask

Is Mojobase a time blocking app?

It does time blocking as part of the calendar and task list you already use: drag a task onto a time, or let the AI suggest blocks for the week. It isn't a separate planner, so the blocks sit next to your real meetings and tasks.

Do time blocks make me look busy to others?

A block is private to you, and by default it doesn't count as busy, so your booking link still offers the time. Mark a block as busy when you want bookings kept out of it.

Does it work with Google Calendar and Outlook?

Yes. Connect Google Calendar or Outlook and their meetings are taken into account when the AI looks for free time, so blocks go where you're actually free, whichever calendar a meeting is on.

Will the AI move my meetings to make room?

Not without asking. It places private blocks on its own, with Undo. Moving a meeting with guests is a proposal showing the exact change and the message to them, waiting for your approval.
