Which should you choose, Calendly or Cal.com?
Choose Calendly if

- You route website leads to the right person from form answers and send meetings to Salesforce.
- You want meeting polls, so invitees vote on times before you book.
- You want an official hosted MCP server so ChatGPT or Claude can book and cancel meetings.
Choose Cal.com if
- You want unlimited booking links, calendars, payments and SMS notifications on a free plan.
- You're moving from Calendly and want a one-click import of your events.
- You build software and want scheduling components to embed in your own app.
- You want to book and check availability from Slack or Telegram with a free Cal.ai app.
How do Calendly and Cal.com differ in approach?
Calendly is a finished scheduling product, and Cal.com is a scheduling platform you can also build on. Calendly gives you booking pages, reusable event types (one-on-one, group, round-robin and collective), routing forms, polls, reminders and payments, plus its own AI notetaker and email scheduling assistant.
Cal.com covers the same core of booking links, round robin and routing forms, gives away more on its free plan, and is made to be extended: embeddable scheduling components called Atoms, a documented API v2 with webhooks, a CLI and skill file for agents, and an open-source contribution guide in its docs.
How much do Calendly and Cal.com cost?
Cal.com is cheaper for one person and close for teams. Cal.com's free plan has one user with unlimited links, calendars and meetings, email and SMS notifications, Stripe and PayPal payments and two-way Salesforce and HubSpot sync. Calendly's free plan has one event type and one calendar connection; Standard, at $10 a seat billed yearly or $12 monthly, unlocks unlimited event types, multiple calendars, reminders and payments.
For teams, Calendly Teams is $16 a seat billed yearly or $20 monthly, and Cal.com Teams is $12 a user billed yearly. Calendly bundles Notetaker and Callie in Standard Plus at $18 and Teams Plus at $24 a seat a month billed yearly. Cal.com Organizations, with sub-teams, a company subdomain and SAML SSO, is $28 a user billed yearly.
How does the AI compare?
Calendly sells AI as a per-seat add-on, and Cal.com includes its chat agents at no extra price. Calendly's Notetaker joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls to record, transcribe and summarise them with action items, and Callie, in beta, suggests times and books meetings when you copy it on an email; both are English only. Cal.com's Cal.ai app sends booking notifications, checks availability and books meetings with teammates from Slack or Telegram, and its pricing page doesn't charge separately for AI.
Which is better for a small team that books customers?
Calendly is better when bookings feed sales; Cal.com when cost matters most. Calendly's Teams plan routes website visitors to the right person from form answers, manages event types centrally and sends meetings to Salesforce. Cal.com's Teams plan adds shared availability, round robin, managed and collective links, routing forms, booking analytics and removes its branding. Both connect Google and Outlook calendars, Stripe and the main CRMs.
Where does Mojobase fit?
Mojobase's Calendar is a third option if the meetings you book are mostly one-on-one, and it's built for 1 to 25 people, and it works well for teams up to 100. Its booking link sits in the same place as your email and customers, so the AI can book, prepare you with the last emails and open tasks, and draft the follow-up afterwards. It has one kind of booking link, one-on-one; team booking, payments at booking and SMS reminders aren't part of it, so teams that need them are better served by Calendly or Cal.com. It costs $39 a month for the first person and $25 for each after, with every app and the AI included.
