How to connect Claude to Gmail and Google Calendar

How do you connect Claude to Gmail?

You connect Claude to Gmail with the Gmail connector Anthropic builds into Claude. It works in Claude on the web and in Claude Desktop, and takes about a minute. The steps, from Anthropic's Help Center (checked 7 November 2026):

1. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors, or click + in a chat, hover over Connectors and choose Manage connectors.
2. Click the + next to Connectors to browse the directory.
3. Select Gmail, review what it can do, and click Connect.
4. Sign in to the Google account you want Claude to use and approve the permissions.
5. In a chat, click +, hover over Connectors and make sure Gmail is switched on.

Now ask something that needs your mail, such as "what did the accountant ask me for this week?". Claude picks the tools it needs, and its answer cites the emails it used, with links to the originals.

How do you connect Claude to Google Calendar?

Google Calendar is a separate connector in the same list, added the same way: choose Google Calendar in the directory, click Connect and sign in with the same Google account. Google Drive is a third connector, if you want Claude to read your files too. Once connected, switch each one on or off per chat from the + menu.

What can Claude do with Gmail and Google Calendar?

With both connected, Claude can read, search and draft in your mailbox and run your calendar. According to Anthropic's Google Workspace connectors article, checked 7 November 2026:

Anthropic says data retrieved through connectors is stored with its chat on Anthropic's servers, so deleting the chat deletes it.

How do you set it up on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan?

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner turns the connectors on for the organisation, and then each person signs in to their own Google account. Enabling a connector doesn't give anyone access by itself.

1. An Owner or Primary Owner opens Organization settings → Connectors.
2. They click Browse connectors, select Gmail (and Google Calendar), and click Add to your team.
3. Each member then connects from Customize → Connectors and signs in with their own Google account.

Owners also decide whether members may let Claude send, reply and forward without asking each time.

How do you connect Gmail to Claude Code?

Claude Code reaches Gmail through an MCP server rather than the built-in connector. Google publishes its own Gmail MCP server, in developer preview at the time of writing: it searches, reads, labels and drafts but has no send tool, and it needs a Google Cloud project with the Gmail MCP API enabled and an OAuth client. What are the limits of connecting Claude straight to Gmail?

The limit is that Claude sees the Google account you connect, and only Google. That's enough for "summarise my unread mail", but most replies a business sends depend on things that aren't in Gmail: whether the invoice was paid, what was agreed on the call, whether the order shipped, what your refund policy says. Claude can only draft "I'll look into it" when the answer lives somewhere it can't reach.

Each extra source means another connector, another sign-in and another set of rules, and none of them knows about the others. If your work also runs through Outlook, a shared support@ address or a task app, you'll be stitching it together in every chat.

How do you connect Claude to your whole business with Mojobase?

1. In Mojobase, open Settings → Connect an agent and copy your company's address (https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp/<company>).
2. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector.
3. Name it Mojobase, paste the address and click Continue.
4. Sign in with your Mojobase account and click Add.

claude.ai and Claude Desktop sign in with your Mojobase account. Claude Code and other developer tools use a key you make in the same Settings screen, with one claude mcp add command. Either way, Claude sees only what you can see; a new event with guests waits for your OK; and everything it does is in Activity, with Claude's name on it and Undo. If Gmail and Google Calendar are all you need, Claude's own connectors are the simpler choice: nothing to add and no other account. Mojobase earns its place when the answers live in more than one app.
