For freelancers
Mojobase for freelancers
Mojobase gives a freelancer the back office of a small company for one person's price: every client inbox in one place, a project per client, a booking link for new enquiries, proposals from past ones, invoices with late ones chased, and a CRM that fills itself. The AI drafts the admin, so the hours you bill go on the work.
What does Mojobase do for freelancers?
Every inbox you work from
Your own address, hosted on your domain or connected from Gmail or Outlook, plus any address a client gave you. Connected mailboxes are unlimited, and all of them share one To do list.
A project for each client
Deliverables with dates, one project per client, and a Today list across all of them. Plan my day suggests what to focus on, with a reason for each.
Enquiries that book themselves
A one-on-one booking link for intro calls, with your hours, buffers and a few questions. The answers become a brief on the call.
Invoices, and getting paid
Numbers reads your existing Stripe invoices and shows who owes what. Before drafting a reminder, the AI checks email, meeting notes, team chat and tasks. Each draft includes the existing Stripe payment link for you to check and send.
Past clients you can win back
Every client you've worked with stays in Customers, with the last project and the last email. Anyone who's gone quiet for 30 days is flagged, ready for a check-in.
Proposals from your best ones
Ask for a proposal and the AI drafts it from the closest one you've sent before and what the new client said by email, for you to edit.
What would you ask it?
- “What's due for each client this week?”
- “Draft a reply to this enquiry with my rates page and my booking link.”
- “Show Lumen's overdue Stripe invoice and draft a reminder with its payment link.”
- “Which clients haven't paid, and did any of them ask for more time?”
- “Who have I not heard from since their project ended?”
Connects to: Gmail and Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Outlook, Any IMAP and SMTP mailbox, Google Calendar, Stripe.
What does a freelancer's week look like with Mojobase?
Less time on admin between pieces of client work. A week for a freelance designer with three active clients:
| Day | What happens | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Plan my day puts the Lumen homepage first because it's due Wednesday, and drafts replies to two clients' weekend emails | Tasks, Email |
| Tuesday | An enquiry arrives. The reply with your rates page and booking link is drafted; they book a call for Thursday | Email, Calendar |
| Wednesday | Your notes from Lumen's feedback call become a summary, four tasks and a follow-up email to approve | Calendar, Tasks, Email |
| Thursday | The intro call has a brief: what they asked, who referred them, and their answers to your booking questions | Calendar, Customers |
| Friday | You ask who owes you money. One invoice is late, but the client wrote that it's paid on the 15th, so no reminder is drafted | Numbers, Email |
Why does a freelancer need the AI to see everything?
Because you are the whole company, and nobody else remembers anything for you. A client's “any update?” needs the tasks, the last feedback call and the files. A reminder about an unpaid invoice needs the thread where they explained a delay. With separate tools you check each by hand; in Mojobase the AI reads them together and drafts the answer with the facts in it.
What should a freelancer keep using?
Your craft tools, your accounting software, Stripe for creating and sending invoices, and, if you bill by the hour, your time tracker. Mojobase reads Stripe invoices and drafts reminders, but does no bookkeeping, expenses or tax. It has no e-signatures, so a contract-signing tool stays too. Client conversations, projects and follow-up can live in Mojobase.
Questions people ask
Is Mojobase worth it for one person?
It costs $39 a month for one person, with every app and the AI included, or $29 for the first 10 companies, for life. It can replace a project tool, a scheduling tool and an AI email assistant. Keep Stripe to issue invoices; Mojobase tracks them and drafts reminders.
Can I keep personal email separate from client work?
Yes. A Personal space holds your personal inboxes, calendar, documents and tasks apart from the business. It's free for anyone who is a paid person in a company, and personal mail never sits in a business.
Does Mojobase track time?
No. There's no timer or timesheet, and Numbers doesn't build invoices from hours or create invoices. If you bill by the hour, keep your time tracker and issue invoices in Stripe. Mojobase reads those invoices and drafts overdue reminders for you to send.
Can my clients see their project?
There's no client portal. Invite a client as a guest into their own Team chat channel, where you can share progress and files, and a guest doesn't take a paid seat.
