Stripe integration

Mojobase and Stripe

Connect Stripe in Settings → Connections with a restricted read-only key. Numbers and Customers show payments, subscriptions and existing Stripe invoices, with open and overdue amounts. The AI checks email, meeting notes, team chat and tasks before drafting reminders with the existing Stripe invoice payment link. A person sends each reminder; Mojobase never issues invoices.

What does Mojobase read from Stripe?

  • Payments: what came in, what failed and what was refunded, by day
  • Customers: names and email addresses, matched to the people and companies in Mojobase Customers
  • Subscriptions: each customer's plan, its status and when it renews
  • Invoices: number, customer, amount, issued and due dates, Stripe status and the existing invoice payment-page link
  • Open and overdue amounts by customer, with totals and days late, in Numbers and on person and company pages in Customers

Used by: Numbers, Customers, the AI's scheduled runs, Quick actions and your own agents over MCP.

How do you connect Stripe to Mojobase?

  1. As an owner, open Settings → Connections → Connect a source, find Stripe and choose Connect. Connect a source in Numbers opens the same flow.
  2. In Stripe, create a restricted key for your company's account. Set Accounts, Balance, Invoices, Checkout Sessions, Subscriptions, Charges and Refunds, Customers, Payouts and Products to Read; leave everything else None, with no Write permissions.
  3. Copy the restricted key into the Restricted key field in Mojobase and choose Connect Stripe. Unrestricted secret keys are refused.
  4. Mojobase matches Stripe customers to the people you already email, by address, and adds the rest to Customers.
  5. Open Numbers → Invoices to see who owes what, or a person or company in Customers to see their Stripe invoices beside their history.

What can you ask once Stripe is connected?

  • “Who owes us money, how much, and since when?”
  • “Chase every invoice more than 30 days late, unless we've agreed otherwise.”
  • “Which subscriptions renew this month, and has anyone emailed about cancelling?”
  • “Which customers have paid late more than once this year?”

What should you know about Stripe itself?

  • Stripe's standard pricing: 2.9% + 30¢ per successful transaction for domestic cards, with no setup or monthly fees1
  • Keys for AI agents: Restricted keys can be tagged as agent keys, which are automatically subject to approval rules for sensitive actions such as payouts and refunds2
  • Stripe's own MCP server: At mcp.stripe.com, with OAuth or an agent API key; it reads and writes through Stripe's API, and creating a refund needs human confirmation3

Why connect Stripe to Mojobase when Stripe has its own dashboard?

Stripe knows the payment; Mojobase knows the conversation around it. Stripe's dashboard shows that invoice 1042 is unpaid. Mojobase also shows that on the call on the 14th you agreed to hold it until the second delivery, so the AI writes "nothing to pay until Thursday" instead of a reminder that annoys a good customer. Payments, plans and invoices sit on the same page as the people who make them.

How does Mojobase decide who to chase?

It starts from the company's Stripe invoices past their due date, displayed in Numbers → Invoices, oldest first. For each one it reads email, meeting notes, team chat and tasks for anything agreed: a later date, a part payment, a dispute in progress. An agreement to wait skips the invoice, with the reason and its source linked. The rest get reminder drafts in your Handbook's tone, with the existing Stripe invoice payment link. A person checks and sends each draft from the right mailbox in Email.

What stays in Stripe?

Invoice creation and sending, numbering, PDFs, tax and the payment page stay in Stripe, along with everything that moves money. Refunds, disputes, payouts, new prices and subscription changes are made in Stripe, by you or someone you trust with it. Mojobase reads the results and keeps every app and the AI up to date with them; it never writes back to your Stripe account. These are your company's customer invoices, separate from Mojobase's own subscription billing.

Questions people ask

Is Mojobase a CRM for Stripe?

Yes, for the customers you bill. Each Stripe customer appears in Mojobase Customers, matched by email address, and their page shows their plan, payments and unpaid invoices beside the emails, meetings, tasks and files about them.

Can Mojobase refund a payment or cancel a subscription?

No. The Stripe connection only reads. Refunds, cancellations, disputes and price changes stay in Stripe, where you or your team make them; Mojobase shows the result after the next sync.

Does the AI chase late payers on its own?

It drafts the reminders; a person always sends them. For each overdue Stripe invoice it checks email, meeting notes, team chat and tasks for an agreement to wait. Skipped invoices show why, with a source link. Other reminder drafts include the existing Stripe invoice payment link and wait in Email for a person to check and send.

Can Mojobase create or send a Stripe invoice?

No. The connection reads invoices your company already issues in Stripe, in US dollars. Stripe keeps invoice creation, sending, numbering, PDFs, tax, payment pages and payment status. Mojobase shows what is owed and drafts reminders with Stripe's existing payment link.

Does Mojobase do bookkeeping for my Stripe payments?

No. Numbers shows money coming in and who owes what, but bookkeeping, expenses, tax and the bank aren't part of Mojobase. Keep your accounting software for the books.

Can my own AI agent see Stripe through Mojobase?

Yes. An agent connected to Mojobase's MCP server reads the same customer pages and Numbers as the person who connected it, so it can answer who owes what without its own Stripe key.
