Which should you choose, Mojobase or Trello?

Choose Trello if

  • You think in boards: cards moving across columns is how your team sees work.
  • You want a free tool for up to ten collaborators, or the lowest paid price.
  • You want Power-Ups for Slack, Google Drive, Salesforce and more than 200 other tools on each board.

Choose Mojobase if

  • Your tasks come from customer and supplier emails, and you want them captured and chased automatically.
  • You want tasks next to the customer, the meeting and the invoice they belong to. Mojobase is built for 1 to 25 people, and it works well for teams up to 100.
  • You'd rather have "Plan my day" suggest a focus list than sort cards yourself.

What's the real difference between Mojobase and Trello?

Trello is a visual board. Lists and cards, assignees and due dates, Power-Ups for other tools and simple automation make it easy to see work move from "to do" to "done". Its Inbox captures to-dos from email, Slack and Teams, and Planner lets you drag cards onto your calendar.

Mojobase's Tasks is a list, not a board, and that's a real difference: there's no board view. What it adds is context. The task app sits in the same place as your email, calendar, customers and invoices, so the AI can see that a customer asked for something, suggest the task, link it to the email and suggest ticking it off once you've sent the reply.

How does the AI compare?

Trello's AI is bundled into its plans. Quick Capture turns messages into to-dos, AI summarisation and generation help with card descriptions and comments, AI organisation adds checklists and due dates and schedules focus blocks, and AI-generated boards turn a goal into lists and cards.

Mojobase's AI works across the business. It suggests tasks from email with a link to the source, proposes projects, labels and dates for unsorted tasks, and "Plan my day" gives a short focus list with a reason for each. In Ask mode, suggestions wait for a click; in Auto mode, changes to your own tasks apply straight away, marked and summed up daily, with Undo. Anything affecting another person always asks first.

Which one costs less for a team of five?

Trello costs less. Free covers up to ten collaborators with up to ten boards; Standard is $5 a user a month billed annually, $25 for five, or $6 monthly; Premium is $10 billed annually. Mojobase for five is $139 a month, or $105 for the first 10 companies, for life.

Mojobase's price buys the whole workspace: email on your domain, team chat, calendar, documents, a CRM, a support inbox and Stripe invoice tracking, with the tasks inside it.

Where is Trello the better choice?

Trello is the better choice for anyone who wants to see work as cards on a board. Its board view, Power-Ups for more than 200 apps, card mirroring, custom fields, and Premium's timeline, table, dashboard and map views are things Mojobase's Tasks doesn't offer. It's also simple, cheap and free for small groups. Choose Mojobase when the tasks are a by-product of email, meetings and customers, and you want them captured and chased for you.

Questions people ask

Does Mojobase have Kanban boards like Trello?

No. Mojobase Tasks shows work as lists: Inbox, Today, Upcoming and Projects with sections, plus dated tasks on the calendar. There's no board view. If moving cards across columns is how your team works, Trello is the better fit.

How much does Trello cost?

Trello Free covers up to ten collaborators per Workspace. Standard is $5 a user a month billed annually, or $6 monthly; Premium, with calendar, timeline, table, dashboard and map views, is $10 billed annually; Enterprise is $17.5 a user billed annually. AI is bundled into the plan prices.

Which is cheaper for five people?

Trello: Free costs nothing for up to ten collaborators, and Standard is $25 a month for five users billed annually. Mojobase is $139 a month for five people, and that also covers email, team chat, calendar, documents, a CRM, a support inbox and Stripe invoice tracking.

Can both turn emails into tasks?

Yes, differently. Trello's Inbox and AI Quick Capture turn email, Slack and Teams messages into to-dos on Standard and above. Mojobase reads your mailboxes directly, suggests tasks from emails that ask for work, and suggests completing them when your sent reply shows the work is done.

Can I move from Trello to Mojobase?

There's no direct Trello import; Mojobase Tasks imports from Todoist. Trello's MCP server and Mojobase's can both connect to Claude or ChatGPT, so an assistant can read a board and add its cards as tasks in a Mojobase project.
