What's the real difference between Mojobase and Odoo?
Odoo is an ERP made of apps. Sales, CRM, eCommerce, Website, Accounting, Invoicing, Inventory, supply chain apps, Point of Sale, HR, Payroll, Marketing, Project, Helpdesk and more share one database, and Odoo Studio lets you change fields and screens. It's open source, with a free Community edition and an Enterprise edition that adds apps and services.
Mojobase is a workspace for the day-to-day of a small business, not a system of record for stock and accounts. It holds the work that arrives from outside, email, meetings, customer questions and payments, and the AI does the first pass on it: sorting mail, drafting replies, finding tasks, briefing meetings and chasing invoices. It does less than Odoo, with fixed apps rather than an ERP implementation. Reading invoices needs the company's Stripe connection.
How do the prices compare for a team of five?
Odoo's Standard plan, with every app on Odoo Online, is $24.90 a user a month billed yearly, a price valid for 12 months for the users first ordered, or $31.10 monthly. Custom, which adds Studio, Agentic AI, multi-company and the external API, is $49 a user billed yearly or $61.10 monthly. One App Free costs nothing for unlimited users. Mojobase for five is $139 a month, or $105 for the first 10 companies, for life.
Odoo's plans leave out implementation services, hosting on Odoo.sh and in-app credits for SMS, lead generation and AI bill scanning, and Odoo recommends Success Packs or partners for setup. Mojobase has nothing to implement: connect a mailbox and the AI starts.
Where is Odoo the better choice?
Odoo is the better choice for any business that runs on stock or a ledger. Accounting, inventory, supply chain, point of sale, payroll and a website with eCommerce, all in one database, are things Mojobase doesn't do and won't replace. Odoo is also the choice if you want open source, to host it yourself, or to build custom apps with Studio. Mojobase tracks the company's Stripe invoices in US dollars and drafts reminders to late payers, but it doesn't create, prepare or send invoices, or do bookkeeping, tax or inventory.
Why would a small business choose Mojobase instead?
Because many small businesses don't need an ERP, and setting one up takes time they don't have. A consultancy, agency or small online store mainly needs its email answered, its customers remembered, its tasks done and its invoices paid. Mojobase finds customers from the people you've written to and met, suggests tasks from email, prepares you for meetings and drafts a reminder to a late payer after checking what was agreed. Everything the AI changes is in Activity with Undo, and you choose per kind of change whether it waits for you.

Is Mojobase an alternative to Odoo?
For a small business that mainly needs email, customers, tasks, documents and invoices, yes. It isn't an ERP: Mojobase has no accounting, inventory, supply chain, point of sale or payroll. Businesses that need those should choose Odoo, or keep an accounting app beside Mojobase.
How much does Odoo cost for a small team?

Does Mojobase do accounting like Odoo?
No. Mojobase reads invoices from your company's Stripe account and shows what is owed in Numbers and Customers. The AI checks email, meeting notes, team chat and tasks, then drafts a reminder with Stripe's payment link for a person to send. Stripe handles invoice creation, payment and status. Mojobase does no bookkeeping, tax, expenses or bank reconciliation; Odoo Accounting does.
What AI does Odoo have?
Odoo's apps can draft emails, improve text, summarise the chatter, fill AI fields and transcribe meetings, and its AI agents, listed in the Custom plan, can answer questions or update records with the tools you give them. Scanning vendor bills with AI is a paid in-app credit.
Is Mojobase open source like Odoo?
No. Mojobase is a hosted service, priced per person, with each company's data kept on its own server in Helsinki, Finland. Odoo Community is free and open source, and Odoo can be hosted on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own servers.
