Which should you choose, Mojobase or Zoho One?
Choose Zoho One if
- You need accounting, payroll, HR or inventory in the same subscription: Zoho One has Books, Payroll, People and Inventory, and Mojobase has none of them.
- You run marketing campaigns, a website and an online store from one vendor.
- Your whole payroll will use it, so the all-employee price per head works out lower.
- You want to build custom apps and processes on a platform.
Choose Mojobase if
- You want a few apps that work as one place rather than dozens to learn. Mojobase is built for 1 to 25 people, and it works well for teams up to 100.
- You want an AI that drafts the reply knowing the customer's email, their unpaid invoice and the task promised for Friday.
- You pay only for the people who use it, not for everyone on payroll.
- You want to choose your AI model, or connect the Claude or ChatGPT you already pay for.
What's the real difference between Mojobase and Zoho One?
Zoho One is breadth: one subscription for a long list of separate Zoho apps, from CRM, Desk and Campaigns to Books, Payroll, People, Inventory and a website builder. Mojobase is depth on the day-to-day: the mail, meetings, customers, tasks, documents and money a small team handles every morning, held in one place so one AI can see all of it.
The practical difference shows up when work crosses apps. A customer writes asking why their order is late and whether the invoice is still due. In Mojobase the AI reads the email, finds the customer's page, sees the unpaid invoice and the open task, checks the delivery terms in the Handbook and drafts the reply for a person to send. Every change it makes is listed in Activity with Undo, and you set per kind of change whether it waits for you or happens on its own.
How do the prices work for a team of five?
Mojobase for five people is $139 a month on the list price, or $105 a month for the first 10 companies, for life. Zoho One's all-employee price is $30 an employee a month, billed annually, which is $150 a month for five; Zoho marks that price "first year only" and charges $37 per employee per month from year two. Billed monthly it's $45 per employee. The catch is that all-employee pricing needs a licence for everyone on payroll. If only some staff will use it, Zoho's flexible user pricing is $67 a user a month billed annually, or $105 billed monthly.
So Zoho One can be the lower price per head, and it includes far more software. Mojobase's price buys fewer apps, the AI included, and nothing to licence for staff who never log in.
What does Zoho One do that Mojobase doesn't?
Zoho One is the better choice for anything that needs a ledger, a warehouse or a payroll. It includes Books for accounting, Expense, Billing and Payroll, People and Recruit for HR, Inventory for orders and stock across warehouses and channels, Campaigns and Marketing Automation, Sites and Commerce for a website and store, and an app creator for custom processes. Mojobase has none of these.
Mojobase reads invoices from your company's Stripe account in US dollars and tracks who owes what in Numbers and on each person's and company's page in Customers. It drafts reminders for people to send; it doesn't create, prepare or send invoices. It also has no bookkeeping, tax or inventory, so a business that needs those either keeps Zoho One or pairs Mojobase with an accounting app.
Why choose Mojobase over a bundle of apps?
Because a small team rarely uses 45 apps, and every app is another screen to learn and another place the information doesn't reach. Mojobase has eight parts that share one customer list, one search, one Quick actions box (⌘K) and one log of everything people and agents did. Your customers fill themselves in from the people you email and meet. Tasks are suggested from the email that asks for the work. The Handbook holds your prices, policies and tone, and every AI run reads it first.
It is built for 1 to 25 people, and it works well for teams up to 100, where the owner still answers support, chases payments and plans the week, and wants the AI to take the first pass at all of it.
Questions people ask
Is Mojobase cheaper than Zoho One?
For a small team, often yes. Zoho One's all-employee price is $30 an employee a month billed annually in the first year, or $45 billed monthly, and every employee on payroll needs a licence. Mojobase is $139 a month for five people, but it does far less than Zoho One's 45 or more apps.
Does Mojobase do accounting like Zoho Books?
No. Mojobase reads the company's own Stripe invoices and shows what each customer owes. Its AI checks what was agreed and drafts a reminder with Stripe's payment link for a person to send. Stripe handles invoice creation, payments and status. Mojobase does no bookkeeping, tax, expenses, payroll or bank reconciliation. Keep an accounting tool such as Zoho Books alongside it.
Does Mojobase have inventory management?
No. Mojobase has no stock levels, warehouses or purchase orders. Numbers reads your Shopify and Amazon sales and your Meta, Google and Amazon Ads spend, so the AI can tell you what sold and what the ads cost, but stock stays in your store or in an inventory app.
How does Zia compare with Mojobase's AI?
Zia is Zoho's own assistant, with Zia Chat, Zia Agents and Zia Skills across Zoho's apps, and Zoho says it runs its AI on its own technology stack. Mojobase lets you pick the model, from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Hermes or your own setup, and runs scheduled jobs such as a morning sweep that drafts replies and flags what's stuck.
Can I use Mojobase with Zoho apps I already have?
Yes, through email and your own agent. Mojobase connects your mailboxes and calendars, and an agent such as Claude can use Mojobase's MCP server and Zoho's MCP together. Mojobase has no direct Zoho connection of its own.
