# Mojobase and Shopify

Connect Shopify to Mojobase once, in Settings → Connections, and Numbers shows your store's daily sales, orders, discounts and returns beside Amazon and your ad spend. The AI reads them every morning with your email and tasks and tells you what changed. The connection is read-only: Mojobase never edits products, orders or prices.

## What does Mojobase read from Shopify?

- Gross sales by day, in your store's time zone: product price times quantity, before tax, shipping, discounts and returns
- Discounts and sales reversals (returns), shown under the sales figure
- Orders by day, and the average order
- The last 7 days again on every sync, because recent days are revised

**Used by:** [Numbers](https://mojobase.ai/numbers), [Customers](https://mojobase.ai/customers), the AI's scheduled runs, Quick actions and your own agents over MCP.

## How do you connect Shopify to Mojobase?

1. Open Settings → Connections → Connect a source in Mojobase (owners only) and choose Shopify.
2. Sign in to your store and approve read-only access to its sales reports.
3. Mojobase reads the last 30 days straight away, then keeps them up to date through the day.
4. Open Numbers to see the store next to your other sales channels and ad platforms.

## What can you ask once Shopify is connected?

- “What did Shopify do yesterday, against the same day last week?”
- “Is the jump in Meta spend showing up in Shopify sales?”
- “Which day this month had the best average order?”
- “Put Shopify and Amazon sales for October in a table for the accountant.”

## What should you know about Shopify itself?

- **Gross sales, as Shopify defines it:** Product price × quantity, before taxes, shipping, discounts and sales reversals[1]
- **Net sales:** Gross sales minus discounts minus sales reversals[2]
- **Total sales:** Net sales plus taxes, duties, shipping charges and fees[3]

## Why connect Shopify to Mojobase instead of reading Shopify's own reports?

Shopify's reports show the store; Mojobase shows the store next to everything else. Most store owners add up the same numbers each morning from Shopify, Seller Central and three ad managers. In Mojobase that's one page, and the AI reads it alongside the email and the tasks, so "Meta spend is up 38% but Shopify sales are flat" arrives with the two campaigns behind it.

## How does the morning run use Shopify data?

The morning run compares yesterday with the same weekday last week, since weekdays differ, and flags what's unusual. A note appears at the top of Numbers and, when it needs a decision, in Home's Needs you today, with Ask and Make a task beside it. Nothing is changed in Shopify or your ad accounts.

## Questions people ask

### Which Shopify figure does Mojobase call sales?

Gross sales: what was ordered, before tax, shipping, discounts and returns. It's measured the same way as Amazon's ordered product sales, so the two add up to one total. Discounts and returns are shown underneath.

### Can Mojobase change anything in my Shopify store?

No. The connection only reads sales reports. It never edits products, prices, orders or customers, and Disconnect deletes the access and every copy Mojobase made.

### Who in my company can see the Shopify numbers?

Owners, to start with. An owner can open Numbers to other members of the team when they're ready.

### Does it work with Amazon too?

Yes. Amazon connects the same way, and Numbers shows both channels side by side with Meta, Google and Amazon Ads spend.
