# Use ChatGPT with your whole business

ChatGPT connects to Mojobase over MCP. On chatgpt.com, add your company's Mojobase address as a custom MCP server in Plugins and sign in; in the ChatGPT desktop app or Codex, add it once under MCP servers. ChatGPT then reads and drafts across your email, calendar, documents, tasks, customers and Handbook, acting as you.

## How do you connect ChatGPT to Mojobase?

### ChatGPT on the web and phone

On chatgpt.com, outside tools arrive as plugins, and a plugin you add works in Chat and Work on the web, the desktop app and your phone. Account and workspace policies apply, so in a Business or Enterprise workspace your admin may need to allow custom MCP servers first.

1. In Mojobase, open Settings → Connect an agent and copy your company's address. It starts with `https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp/`.
2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
3. Name it Mojobase, add a short description, and paste the address under Connection.
4. Configure authentication, read the risk warning, select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
5. Sign in with your Mojobase account when asked. In a new chat, type @ and pick Mojobase.

### ChatGPT desktop app

The desktop app shares its MCP servers with Codex CLI and the Codex IDE extension, so adding Mojobase here sets up all three at once.

1. Open Settings, then MCP servers, and select Add server.
2. Name it Mojobase, choose Streamable HTTP, and paste your company's address from Settings → Connect an agent.
3. Save, select Restart, then select Authenticate next to Mojobase and sign in.
4. Type `/mcp` in the composer to check that Mojobase is connected.

### Codex CLI, with a key

For developers and for scripts that run without anyone signing in.

1. In Mojobase, open Settings → Connect an agent and make a key. It's shown once, so copy it.
2. Add `export MOJOBASE_KEY=YOUR_KEY` to your shell profile.
3. Run `codex mcp add mojobase --url https://app.mojobase.ai/mcp --bearer-token-env-var MOJOBASE_KEY`, then `/mcp` in Codex to check.

- **ChatGPT on the web:** Uses remote MCP tools through plugins; a custom server is added at chatgpt.com/plugins with Add custom MCP server[1]
- **Desktop app and Codex:** The ChatGPT desktop app, Codex CLI and the IDE extension support MCP servers and share one configuration[2]
- **Sign-in:** Streamable HTTP servers can use a bearer token or OAuth, including Client ID Metadata Documents and Dynamic Client Registration[3]
- **Approvals in Codex:** default\_tools\_approval\_mode = "writes" asks before any tool that isn't marked read-only[4]
- **Business and Enterprise workspaces:** Admins grant the Create plugins with MCPs permission, which lets a member use developer mode to create custom connections[5]

## What can you ask ChatGPT once it's connected?

- “Which customer emails from this week still need an answer? Draft them in our tone.”
- “Summarise everything we've said to Northside since September, mail and meetings.”
- “Write the agenda for tomorrow's 10:00 from the emails and the last call's notes.”
- “Add a task for Sam to send the revised quote by Thursday.”
- “What did the Shopify store do yesterday against last Tuesday?”

## Why give ChatGPT one Mojobase connection instead of one plugin per app?

One connection gives ChatGPT the context a small business runs on. With a separate plugin for mail, another for the calendar and another for files, each one sees a slice, and none of them knows which emails, meetings and tasks belong to the same customer. Mojobase's MCP server holds them all, with one search across every app (`mojobase_search`), so "where are we with Northside?" comes back with the thread, the quote, the last call and the open task together.

## What does ChatGPT for a small business look like with Mojobase?

It's the same ChatGPT, with the business behind it. In the morning you ask what needs you; it reads the inbox, today's calendar and overdue tasks and answers in a few lines. Before a call, it pulls the emails, files and notes for that customer. After the call, it turns your notes into tasks for the team and drafts the follow-up email. ChatGPT reads the Handbook's business profile first, so the drafts use your prices, your policies and your tone.

## Which ChatGPT should you connect: web, desktop or Codex?

Start with the web plugin; it's the one the whole team can use. Add Mojobase in the desktop app if you work there, since it also sets up Codex. Use Codex CLI with a key for anything that runs on its own, such as a script that drafts a weekly summary. In Codex, setting the server's approvals to "writes" makes it ask before any tool that changes something.

## How do you stop ChatGPT doing something you didn't intend?

Everything ChatGPT does in Mojobase is recorded in Activity, with ChatGPT's name and model, and Undo where the app has it. Mail it writes stays a draft until you send it, unless you enable “Schedule mail, and change what is scheduled” in Email Settings → AI and agents. Mail to other addresses also needs Email Settings → General → Send to anyone. Calendar changes that would reach other people wait for your approval. Removing the plugin, or switching off its access in Settings → Connect an agent, stops it at once.

## Questions people ask

### Can I use ChatGPT for business with Mojobase?

Yes. In a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin decides who may create plugins with custom MCP servers. Once Mojobase is added, each person signs in with their own Mojobase account, so ChatGPT sees only what that person may see.

### Can ChatGPT read my Gmail through Mojobase?

Yes, and your other mailboxes too. ChatGPT reaches every mailbox you can see in Mojobase Email, whether it's Gmail, Outlook or business email Mojobase hosts on your own domain, plus the calendar, files and tasks around each conversation.

### Does ChatGPT work on my phone once it's connected?

Yes. Plugins work in ChatGPT on the web, the desktop app and the phone apps. Add the custom MCP server once on chatgpt.com, and the Mojobase plugin is there in your phone's chats too.

### Does connecting ChatGPT cost extra in Mojobase?

No. ChatGPT runs on your own ChatGPT plan, and connecting it to Mojobase is free, since agents are never counted as seats. Mojobase's own background work, such as sorting new mail, uses the AI included in your plan.
